Brightfilter and ESET AntiVirus
ESET NOD32 and AV run a service which checks web access. The Brightfilter service uses this same mechanism to check requested websites and may conflict with the HTTP checking service within the EST application. To enable Brightfilter and ESET to work on the same machine, open the ESET configuration, select the Web access protection tab and uncheck 'Enable web access protection'. Also, under the HTTP tab, uncheck 'Enable HTTP checking'. In addition, run ESET in interactive mode and rules to permit Brightfilter.exe and BrightTray.exe. Brightfilter will now work alongside with ESET.
Brightfilter seems to block the Amazon.com JungleDisk service - why?
The JungleDisk service is categorised as 'Personal Network Storage' and is blocked by the 'B' profile. If there is any handshake between your PC and the service on startup, then this would be blocked by the Brightfilter software.
To remedy this, you can either customise the default profile or change from a 'B' profile to a 'U' or 'PG'. Neither of these pre-set profiles block 'Personal Network Storage' and will permit any handshake when the PC starts and Brightfilter starts filtering web (port 80) traffic.
